Scott Wells, Laura Elaine Ellis and Ramon Moreno Acanda were among those honored Tuesday night at the 24th Isadora Duncan Dance Awards (the Izzies) at the San Francisco Public Library’s Koret Auditorium. Wells was honored for his choreography of “What Men Want.”
Ellis received her award for her role in Dimensions Dance Theater’s “Grace – 35th Anniversary Celebration,” and Acanda was recognized for his entire season at Ballet San Jose.

Performances for 5 female and male dancers created by Ohad Naharin premiers this week at Suzanne Dellal in Tel Aviv Israel. The piece was originally created for 5 women in 2008 and has been set on 5 men in 2010. You might have to go twice to see both the women and the men perform but if you don’t live in Israel and can’t go at all like most of us check out this preview video.
